Route Two (the scenic route) Follow the M5 from Bristol until it becomes the A38. Follow the A38 for approximately 2 miles until it splits into two. Take the right hand fork signposted for Plymouth. Immediately you will ascend a steep hill. Near the top, take the left hand exit road. Proceed 100 yards to the mini roundabout and turn right (under the A38). Follow the road towards Dunchideock for approximately 1.5 miles and watch out for a road which forks off on the right signposted (not very well) for Clapham. Follow this road over a minor crossroads down to the bottom. Turn left and immediately sweep right up the hill towards Shillingford. The fishery is about three quarters of a mile on your left, just before you enter the village.
Turn left off the A38 just after the Happy Eater restaurant (opposite Exeter racecourse) and at the T junction turn left on the Dunchideock road then follow the directions as above. Follow the road towards Dunchideock for approximately 1.5 miles and watch out for a road which forks off on the right signposted (not very well) for Clapham. Follow this road over a minor crossroads down to the bottom. Turn left and immediately sweep right up the hill towards Shillingford. The fishery is about three quarters of a mile on your left, just before you enter the village. Coming Out of Exeter Avoiding the Motorway Follow the signs to Alphington, then Shillingford St. George. Pass through Shillingford and the fishery is on the right as you leave the village.
Follow the signs to Newton Abbot and stay on the by-pass travelling towards Exeter. After approximately 6 miles the road will start slowly rising. At the brow of the hill there is a large petrol station on the left and immediately after it a junction on the left. Take this road and it will bring you to the mini roundabout. Go across it and under the A38. Follow the road towards Dunchideock for approximately 1.5 miles and watch out for a road which forks off on the right signposted (not very well) for Clapham. Follow this road over a minor crossroads down to the bottom. Turn left and immediately sweep right up the hill towards Shillingford.
